The Argentinean ace was recently found guilty of tax evasion by Spanish authorities, which could make him leave Spain to join the Blues.

Once more, Lionel Messi's future is being linked to a move away from La Liga. His destination? None other than Chelsea.

Reports by The Sun suggest that the player's father/agent Jorge Messi met with the Blues' owner Roman Abramovich at the tycoon's yacht soon after being indicted for tax evasion by Spanish authorities. The purpose of this meeting seems to be none other than having "La Pulga" playing for the London-based team if he decides to leave La Liga after having faced such problems in recent years.

Messi recently signed a contract extension with Barcelona, but the Argentine ace had already been linked with a move to the EPL this year, days before he penned a new deal with Los Blaugranas.

The Messis were sentenced to serve 21 months in jail, but Spanish authorities grant a pardon to first-time offenders who are sentenced to less than two years of jail time, meaning that neither his father nor the player will set foot inside a Spanish penitentiary.

Meanwhile, Messi is taking some time off after losing a second Copa América final in a row against Chile, which forced him to announce his retirement from La Albiceleste.
