Portugal midfielder Andre Gomes believes his side can come out victorious against Bale and Co. in Wednesday's Euro 2016 semi-final in Lyon.

After Portugal beat Poland 5-3 on penalties, Fernando Santos' side will face Wales in hopes to book their ticket to the glorious final of UEFA Euro 2016.

Speaking at the pre-match press conference, Gomez said his team can cope with the threats from Gareth Bale and his team-mates.

"I know Gareth Bale from the Spanish league, I also played against British teams in the past, so I know their way to play, their style.

"They are very strong physically; they've got a very good team. We are preparing to face a very strong Wales team. They attack very well. I think they counter-attack very well as well.

"But we will use our weapons the best way we can to beat them on Wednesday.

"He has been working for the group and the group is the most important.

"Maybe people were waiting for more goals, but he has made the best contribution to the team."

The 22-year-old Valencia player has started in Portugal's first four matches of the tournament but missed the quarter-final win over Poland due to a thigh injury. However, La Liga player insists he will be fit to feature in this anticipated match-up.

"Physical problems are things we have no control over. I have tried to improve every day and now I am feeling better.

"I have already returned to training with my team-mates. Now I will try to improve the next game to give my contribution, on or off the pitch."
