Portugal will be hoping to make history this summer in France after Fernando Santos's men crashed out of Euro 2012 in the semi-finals against Spain.
Ronaldo and Co. will be heading into UEFA Euro 2016 with unfinished business after losing the finals in Euro 2004 and three semi-final losses in 1984, 2000 and 2012.
Portugal forward Eder has revealed his thoughts on his squad's side and their potential of going far in this top-flight tournament.
Speaking to UEFA.com ahead of their opening match against Iceland, the 28-year-old Lille footballer said:
"We're very confident and motivated. We had an excellent qualifying campaign, with great results. The group has been working very well together, the players are playing very well. Right now, we have all it takes to do something amazing in this competition, and that's exactly what we want to do.
"We're a very strong group in this respect. This blend will show its worth during the matches, and it will be very positive for us.
"The way we are playing right now, we'll score lots of goals."
Portugal will face opponents Iceland on June 14 at the Geoffroy-Guichard, before they go head-to-head with other Group F rivals Austria and Hungary.
