Dani Carvajal has been ruled out of the much-anticipated Euro 2016 due to a hamstring injury.

Dani Carvajal is set to miss Euro 2016 due to a hamstring injury picked on Saturday during the Champions League clash against Atletico Madrid. The Real Madrid defender was replaced by Danilo in the second-half of the thrilling final after getting injured, and was seeing weeping on his way out of the pitch.

Several media reports suggest that he could be replaced by Arsenal’s Hector Bellerin, who was left out of Spain’s Euro 2016 squad.

The 21-year-old (on the ground, below) product of Barca’s La Masia academy featured for his national team on Sunday when they cruised to a 3-1 win over Bosnia-Herzegovina.Bellerin in action for SpainHowever, the Arsenal player is not guaranteed of a starting role especially if coach Vincente del Bosque views Chelsea’s Cesar Azpilicueta as a better replacement. Azpilicueta has already been named in the provisional squad for Euro 2016 which kicks off in France.

La Roja kick off their Euro 2016 campaign against Czech Republic on June 13th, face Turkey four days later, then Croatia on June 21st.
