The French National Team was handed a serious blow earlier today, as Real Madrid's center back Raphael Varane was ruled out of the European tournament next month.
Varane was set to be one of the starters for Didier Deschamps' crew when the hosts start the tournament against Romania. Now, the French tactician will have to work out a plan to substitute the talented defender.
The center back will be substituted by Sevilla's Adil Rami. The French National Team revealed the news to its fans via their Twitter feed.
"Raphael Varane is out. Adil Rami will take his place in the 23-man squad for the Euro 2016".

France is deemed as one of the favorite teams to win the continental tournament. Les Bleus will play in the Group Stage against Romania, Albania and Switzerland. Deschamps' squad has been harshly criticized for leaving out players such as Kevin Gameiro and Alexander Lacazzette, while giving the nod to players such as Olivier Giroud and Eliaquim Mangala.
