According to Guillem Balague, La Liga giants Real Madrid already have a plan set in place for if star attacker Cristiano Ronaldo decides to leave the Spanish capital, with Los Blancos ready to move in for one of the English Premier League’s biggest names.
As stated by the Spanish reporter, that man is none other than Chelsea ace Eden Hazard, who despite his turbulent 2015-16 campaign at Stamford Bridge, is an undeniable talent that would gravely improve Zinedine Zidane’s already star-studded squad.
Balague told Sky Sports: “It all depends on the transfer movements. Paris St-Germain are pushing for Cristiano Ronaldo to move to France.
"Real Madrid think that if Ronaldo doesn't go to PSG they will have to renew Ronaldo's contract. If he stays on Hazard may not be the player they go for but they do need new players. It's all still a bit up in the air.”
The transfer rumors linking the 31-year-old three-time Ballon d’Or winner with the Ligue 1 champions never seem to cease, and with star striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic recently announcing that he’ll be leaving Paris, Les Parisiens are in need of an ace.
French publication Le Parisien recently wrote (as per the Independent) that Ronaldo’s agent met with Laurent Blanc’s side over a proposed transfer, but for the summer of 2017, when the former Man United winger will have only a year remaining on his Real Madrid deal.
Incoming Blues boss Antonio Conte will likely be keen on holding onto Hazard regardless of Cristiano’s Real Madrid future, as the Italian boss looks to re-instate Chelsea as one of England’s dominant forces.
