Manchester United’s Wayne Rooney has shocked the world by clearly announcing his desire to leave the Red Devils. What could be the reasons behind his anticipated departure?

Wayne Rooney has decided: He wants to leave Manchester United, but his reason hasn't convinced the public. In a statement on Wednesday night, the English man let the media and the public understand that Manchester United’s plans for the future were different to his winning mentality – an explanation which people sarcastically interpreted this way:

Wayne Rooney is too good to remain under Alex Ferguson at Old Trafford, where more than 30 trophies have been won over the past through the leadership of the experienced Fergie.

In truth, however, are there more acceptable reasons behind the striker’s desire to leave the club he used to regard as his home? Just like the group of furious fans who stormed Wayne Rooney's house on Thursday night according to The Sun, we ask ourselves what could really have pushed the player to give up on Manchester United. Here are three supposed reasons:

1) The Fear Of Experiencing A Sudden Title Drought Like Arsenal, Or Worse… Like Liverpool!

Who had confidently and seriously predicted that Arsenal’s 2005 FA Cup triumph against Manchester United would mark the Gunners’ last piece of silverware until now? Who knew, in the 1980s, that Liverpool would go 20 years without clinching the English Premier League title – especially when the club once had outstanding players such as Michael Owen honoring its colors?

Above all, only few – if no-one, half a decade ago – would have loved to bet on their money and predict that the Merseyside Reds would presently be experiencing relegation battles. Well, perhaps Wayne Rooney is referring to such upsets in the history of some big clubs when he doubts Manchester United’s future in terms of success. Time will tell if the former Everton striker’s intuition is right. In the meantime, though, Wayne Rooney sounds like a “disrespectful lad” to Manchester United fans who expect to enjoy more good years under the reign of the wise Sir Alex Ferguson.

2)  A Way Of Getting More Money As He Plots To Divorce His Wife ColeenWayne Rooney and Coleen could divorce after their marriage suffered a big blow recently.

Wayne Rooney’s marital situation is in chaos. The prospect of a divorce between Roo and Coleen hasn’t been put to bed following reports that the Manchester United player cheated on his wife with prostitutes during Coleen’s pregnancy.

A divorce could see Wayne lose a big part of his wealth to Coleen, just like it was the case for Arsenal legend Thierry Henry when he divorced model Claire.  Apparently, quitting Old Trafford could help Rooney help himself out in terms of individual riches as he anticipates this kind of marital fiasco.

Fact: Wayne Rooney – who was recently snubbed by Coca Cola for an advert – is expected to earn much more (should he quit for another big club) than he currently does at Manchester United where he is paid 90,000 pounds a week.

3) A Way Of Escaping The Cameras And Microphones Of England’s Inquisitive Media

Since his scandal with prostitutes broke into the headlines about two months ago, Wayne Rooney hasn’t been able to avoid confrontation by the curious media in England. His desire to seek for peace in his private life as well as his inability to cope with the pressure on the pitch might also be behind Rooney’s idea to leave Manchester United.

In this case, neither Chelsea nor Manchester City might win the 24-year-old’s signature. Spain’s Real Madrid will then be favorites to land the striker. It is believed that Florentino Perez's side would agree to offer Wayne Rooney a mega £180,000-a-week deal.

However, escaping from the media in England may not mean that peace would be found for the young millionaire. Wayne Rooney could struggle to adapt to another league different from the English Premier League whereas the bench may end up being his everyday destination.
