La Liga is everything but over, as the winner will have to be decided on the final match day of this Spanish tournament.

After today's dramatic matches from the top three contenders of La Liga, the chase for the trophy has been narrowed down to a two-horse race, as FC Barcelona and Real Madrid fight until the last match day for domestic glory. Diego Simeone's men crashed out of the title race after losing away to Levante 2-1, making it mathematically impossible for Atletico Madrid to catch up to their opponents.

Now Real Madrid is left with 87 points with their win over Valencia while Messi and Co. remain on the top of the league table with 88 points after thrashing Espanyol 5-0 at the Camp Nou.

La Liga continues to be a thrilling tale as Zidane, and Luis Enrique's men must win their last league fixtures in order to be crowned the champions of Spain. The Blaugranas are one win away from reaching their second consecutive La Liga trophy and can almost taste the title in their own hands, but if they drop points against Granada next Sunday, Los Blancos could secure their first championship since 2012, given they beat Deportivo de La Coruna.

The 37th La Liga matchday proved to be an evening full of excitement, as the tight race has heated up between long time rivals, FC Barcelona and Real Madrid.

Real Madrid's next match is away against Deportivo while Barcelona will face 16th place contenders Granada at the Estadio Nuevo Los Cármenes.
