The Spanish tactician lost the plot in front of the press, as the Blaugrana lost their grip on the Liga BBVA title.

All is not going well at Barcelona. The Catalan giants, who a few months back appeared destined to repeat the heights of last season and clinch another treble, have now crashed out of the Champions League and are close to surrendering their Liga BBVA title.

Atletico Madrid knocked out Luis Enrique’s crew from Europe’s top-tier competition and have now moved level on points with Lionel Messi and Co. in the Spanish Primera Division after Barca’s surprise 2-1 loss at home to Valencia.

That is a run of three consecutive defeats in La Liga for the defending champions, an atrocious losing streak which has seen Real Madrid, whom at one point trailed the Catalan giants by 12 points, move to within a point of the league leaders.

After the game, questions were asked to the club’s now under-fire manager, with one journalist in particular inquiring whether the club’s physical preparation is the main culprit behind their epic demise.

The Asturian boss asked the journalist (as per Goal): "What was your surname?"

The journalist then went on to say “Malo”, before Enrique replied by saying: "Correct, next question”.

“Malo” in Spanish translates into “bad” in English, a remark which could be seen as an attack on the journalist.

This incident draws resemblance with another under-fire European manager, Louis Van Gaal, who has had several clashes with journalists across this season.
