Luis Enrique could miss the services of Barcelona’s key players this season ahead of their trip to Vincente Calderon.

Barcelona will play without midfielder Rafinha Alcantara in the Champions League quarter-final tie against rivals Atletico Madrid. The Catalan giants earned a controversial 2-1 win over Diego Simeone’s men in the first leg fixture played last week, and will be hoping to register positive results especially after the shocking 1-0 defeat to Real Sociedad over the weekend in La Liga.

The Spanish club announced on Monday through their official website that the Brazilian midfield icon will be unavailable for selection due to an adductor problem sustained during the Real Sociedad match.

Rafinha featured in the 2-1 win over the Colchoneros on Tuesday before picking up the injury over the weekend. He was then replaced by Andres Iniesta at the break.

The 23-year-old is unlikely to feature for Los Blaugrana again this season, with just over one month left to the end of the season.

Meanwhile, Thomas Vermaelen has reportedly picked up a calf muscle injury and could be unavailable for selection for the crucial UCL quarter-final clash. Gerard Pique is also said to be struggling with a muscle discomfort and did not train on Monday ahead of the UCL tie. However, the Spaniard is set to undergo a series of medical tests to determine his fitness levels.
