The Barca striker made his 1st international appearance in almost two years with the skipper’s armband to rescue his team a point.

Uruguayan striker Luis Suarez enjoyed a dream return to the national side after completing his 9-game ban which kept him away from La Celeste for nearly two years.

The 29-year-old superstar was even handed the captain’s armband by coach Oscar Tabarez, as the former Liverpool attacker helped rescue a point for his boys with an all-important equalizer as Uruguay fought from 2-0 down to draw 2-2.

Making his first appearance for the national side since his biting controversy back in the 2014 World Cup, Suarez revealed that the team boss gave him a little piece of advice due to the media hype surrounding the Blaugrana ace’s return.

After the game, Luis also expressed deep “pride” in captaining Uruguay, saying:

“I feel mostly pride at being the captain because it is not easy being leader. The spotlight was one me. I talked to Oscar Tabarez and he told me to face the risks.”
