Premier League giants Manchester United have indirectly hinted that they could part ways with their manager Louis Van Gaal, according to The Independent. The Dutch tactician has been struggling at his new club, having bowed out of the Capital One Cup and UEFA Champions League, while his chances of securing a top-four finish this season looks slim.
The Red Devils released a video of their 2016/17 pre-season tour to China but the former Bayern Munich boss was conspicuously missing in the video. The Old Trafford outfit will face city rivals Manchester City and German giants Borussia Dortmund in the International Champions Cup to be hosted in Shenzhen and Beijing in July. This will be the first ever Manchester derby to be played outside the UK.
Interestingly, when Man Utd toured the United States in 2014/15, LVG was featured in the pre season video. His absence in the recent promo video has raised eyebrows while some fans and pundits believe it could be a coded message from the club to announce his expected departure. Former Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has been earmarked as the top candidate for the Old Trafford job if Van Gaal leaves in the summer.
