Fifth-placed Inter Milan will try to win their second game in a row this Saturday when they host Bologna at Giuseppe Meazza Stadium. The Neroazzurri, who fell behind in the Serie A's title race a few weeks ago, are trying to find the way to keep themselves afloat in order to be able to play European football next season, which will force them not to drop points at home.
Last week's win against Palermo provided the team with a huge ego boost, following a heart-breaking loss against Juventus that practically left them with no chance of winning the Scudetto this year. For Saturday's game, coach Roberto Mancini will almost have a full squad to choose from, with the only absence of Stevan Jovetic. Up front, the Argentinean duo of Mauro Icardi and Rodrigo Palacio should create problems for Bologna's defense, which has conceded 31 goals this season.
The away team is also in need of adding points to their tally, as Roberto Donadoni's crew wants to assure for once and for all they will not struggle to maintain their spot among the Italian top flight. The Rossoblu are currently ten points clear off the relegation spots, but after only being able to win one of their most recent six games, things could turn really ugly for them if they can't find a way to snap out of their current funk. Donadoni will face the neroazzurri with a full squad to choose from.
Since 1997, these teams have played 34 games against each other, with Inter winning 21 of those meetings. Inter is currently enjoying a three-game streak without a loss facing the Rossoblu, with their previous match this season ending 1-0 for Mancini's crew.
