The French striker was banned from Didier Deschamps' squad due to his legal problems with Les Bleus' team-mate Mathieu Valbuena.

Benzema's hopes of playing the Euro 2016 have been given a serious boost on Friday, as the court investigating his involvement in an attempt to blackmail his French National team-mate Mathieu Valbuena decided to grant him permission to meet with the 31-year-old midfielder.

Benzema was banned from meeting with Valbuena after the court of Versailles issued a statement on February 18th, in which Real Madrid's striker could not have any contact whatsoever with the Olympique Lyon midfielder as part of the investigation involving a blackmailing scandal between the two players and Karim Zenati, Benzema's childhood friend.

Later that month, the FFF informed Benzema he wouldn't be able to play for Les Blues until his judicial matter was solved, making his presence in the European tournament doubtful.

Earlier today, Benzema's attorneys revealed to L'Equipe that the judge had lifted the ban against their client, giving way for a possible settlement regarding Benzema's presence with Les Bleus.

"Common sense has reasserted itself. This decision lifts the legal obstacles which could have existed. Benzema remains under investigation until the inquiry is complete. We are working hard to demonstrate his innocence, this is a first stage cleared," Sylvain Cormier, a member of Benzema's legal team told the French outlet.

Now, the French Football Federation will have to lift their ban against Benzema to allow him to play with Les Bleus.
