Los Blancos will look to grab victory in Saturday's game, with their 2nd leg Champions League clash with Roma right around the corner.

On Wednesday, La Liga giants Real Madrid returned to winning ways with a 3-1 victory over Levante, albeit frustration was still visible amongst the Blancos players.

However, the result did little to help Zinedine Zidane’s crew narrow the gap between them and Barca and Atletico, as both the first and second-placed Spanish giants enjoyed victorious in their respective Matchday 27 fixtures.

Nonetheless, the victory did do wonders to improve the morale at the Bernabeu. Real Madrid will look to continue their winning form against Celta Vigo on Saturday in order to head into Tuesday Champions League clash with confidence.

Team news – who’s fit and who’s not?

The injury crisis and player absentee that plagued Real Madrid is slowly easing up, as Les Merengues will be welcoming back Sergio Ramos and Dani Carvajal on Saturday, having seen out their one-match suspensions.

Gareth Bale and Marcelo appear to have made full recovery from their injuries and could be in contention for a starting XI berth.

Karim Benzema, however, remains sidelined with a muscle injury; Alvaro Arbeloa is a doubt, whilst Zidane is unlikely to risk Toni Kroos and Luka Modric ahead of their upcoming Champions League affair.

Celta will be without the suspended Gustavo Cabral for this weekend, whilst Andreu Fontas remains a long-term absentee.

Head to head

One needs not to look far back in history to dig up Celta Vigo’s last triumph over the 10-time Champions League winners, which came courtesy of a 2-0 home win over Los Blancos in May 2014. However, the last time the Galician won at the Bernabeu was back in December 2006.

Since their return to La Liga in 2012, the Galician have not been able to beat Real Madrid at Santiago Bernabeu, losing all four, scoring none, and conceding 12.

However, Celta did grab consecutive away wins against the Madrid giants in 2005 and 2006 before being relegated.
