Speaking ahead of Saturday's all-important North London Derby, Wenger revealed that another star will miss the White Hart Lane trip.

Just as fans thought Arsenal’s season couldn’t get any worse, surprise, surprise, it just did!

Superstar goalkeeper Petr Cech – a man who has proven vital to the Gunners throughout the season thanks to his leadership and numerous amounts of world-class saves – has been ruled out for three to four weeks.

The former Chelsea custodian came down with a calf injury during Wednesday’s disappointing 2-1 defeat at home to Swansea, a knock which will see the Czech international spend costly time on the sidelines.

Long-serving manager Arsene Wenger revealed the extent of Cech’s injury, whilst also announcing that Laurent Koscielny remains unfit, as he spoke ahead of their all-important trip to White Hart Lane in Saturday’s North London Derby.

“Cech is out, Koscielny is not back,” Wenger stated in the pre-match press conference, as per The Independent

“Cech will be three or four weeks with a calf injury. He had a groin alert, he could not kick the ball properly because of his groin.”

Fans may not be too pleased with Le Prof, as he confessed that Cech was suffering of a groin problem prior to the Swansea clash, separate from the calf injury he sustained in the defeat.

“Cech had a little groin problem but declared himself 100% fit,” he added. “You trust the player. He is 33 years of age.

"Koscielny has a small injury and will be out for tomorrow."

Petr Cech, Arsenal, Swansea City, English Premier League

This will come as a huge blow to the Gunners, as they are in dire need of three points in their run-in with Tottenham.

Arsenal, in search of their first English Premeir League title since 2004, have fallen behind in the title race, sitting in third, six points behind surprise leaders Leicester and six behind Pochettino's boys.

Although Koscielny may make his return next week for the FA Cup replay against Hull City, Cech could miss the Champions League tie with Barca plus four league games: Spurs (A), West Brom (H), Everton (A), and Watford (H).
