Liverpool will welcome Stoke to Anfield in the second leg of the league cup semi-final on Tuesday, the 26th of January. Check the live TV and online streaming broadcast listings for Liverpool vs Stoke.

The Reds come into this match at the back of a scintillating nine goal thriller which saw them beat Norwich by a 5-4 score line. This was after a comfortable 3-0 win over Exeter in the FA Cup and Liverpool will be hoping to make progress in another domestic competition on Tuesday.

The two sides squared off at Britannia Stadium in the first leg earlier in the month in a match the Reds won thanks to a solitary strike from Jordan Ibe. Liverpool have struggled this season especially in the league where they are seventh, eight points shy of a top four place.

However vice captain James Milner is motivated to doing well in the cup competitions and is confident that winning a trophy this season will help silencing the critics.

"I’m not bothered by what the critics think," the 30-year-old said.

"It’s important to watch the game and listen to what the manager wants and what I think. Some people will say things just to be controversial and get under people’s skins.

"I understand that, I’ve been around the game long enough, and the most important people’s opinions are the manager’s and those of my team-mates.

"There are improvements to be made and we know where we need to get to. It’s not about -writing off this season and saying, ‘We’ve changed the manager, let’s go again next year’.

"If we can win at least one trophy, while changing manager and with new players coming in during a year of transition, then we’ll be achieving something."

Stoke on the other hand have fared well this season but will be hoping to bounce back after a 3-0 drubbing at the hands of Leicester last time out.

Captain Ryan Shawcross was withdrawn in that much after suffering a back injury and is a doubt for the trip to Anfield. Marko Arnautovic did not feature in that match either but is poised to return.
Liverpool will continue to be without the likes of Dejan Lovren and Philippe Coutinho who last featured in the first leg against Stoke. Defender Martin Skrtel and forward Daniel Sturridge will also remain on the sidelines.
