The former left back revealed he held a meeting with a number of Los Blancos' officers to discuss a job opportunity as part of the team's backroom staff.

Another player from "Los Galácticos" era could be preparing a comeback with Real Madrid, as former left back Roberto Carlos has held a number of talks to become part of the team's backroom staff. The former footballer was one of Zidane's closest friends when both played for the Spanish giants, and the former Brazilian player revealed he would love to work with the French manager.

"I would be honored to work for Real Madrid again. I had a meeting with Real Madrid about my future with the club. Soon I will know how I can collaborate with Zidane’s Madrid," the Brazilian legend stated.

Known for his precise free kicks, the 42-year old Brazilian praised Zinedine Zidane's personality, which could be key to see him lead Los Blancos to glory this season.

"Zidane is a leader in the dressing room. His personality is going to make him very successful. A coach has to befriend his players and Benítez struggled to form a bond with them," Roberto Carlos added.

Finally, Roberto Carlos discussed Monday's Ballon D'Or gala, revealing that he believes Lionel Messi needs to win a World Cup title with Argentina before he is considered the best player of all time, and if there is a chance, he will try to persuade Neymar to join Real Madrid in the future.

"I can take him to Real Madrid. He’s very young. I am sure next year he will finish even higher in the Ballon d’Or," the former left back concluded.

Real Madrid will start the second half of the season on Sunday, as they host Sporting Gijón at Santiago Bernabeu Stadium.
