One World Sports to showcase Asian Football Confederation U-23 Championship

Exclusive, live coverage from Qatar of this Olympic qualifier -- from 12 January 2016 to 30 January 2016

ONE World Sports, America’s Network for Global Sports, announced today that it will carry the complete 2016 Asian Football Confederation (AFC) U-23 Championship tournament beginning January 12-30. Matches, which are being shown live from Doha, Qatar, the site of the 2022 Men’s World Cup, will be available on the ONE World Sports network and website.

For the first time, the AFC U-23 Championship will serve as the AFC qualifiers for the 2016 Olympic Games with the top three teams heading to Brazil as the AFC representatives. The full schedule of matches airing on ONE World Sports can be found on http://www.oneworldsports.com/AFCU23schedule.

ONE World Sports is the U.S. TV home of the quadrennial AFC soccer tournaments. In January 2015, the network carried the AFC Asian Cup, the second oldest continental football championship after Copa América. Host country Australia earned the victory over South Korea and automatic qualification for the FIFA Confederations Cup. The 2016 AFC U-23 Championship, featuring 16 qualifying national teams from throughout the Middle and Far East, will mark the second edition of the AFC’s quadrennial international age-restricted championship for men’s under-23 national teams throughout Asia. Iraq is the current title-holder.
