Chelsea’s interim manager Guus Hiddin believes the English champions have very low chances of finishing top four this season.

The Blues are on a mission to bounce back after a disappointing run in the Premier League that led to the firing of their former coach Jose Mourinho. However, speaking during a post-match interview, Hiddink revealed that they had a slim chance of toppling Tottenham, who currently sit at the fourth position on the log with 13 points more than Chelsea.

The West London club sits just two places above the relegation zone and the Dutch tactician believes that it will take a miracle for them to finish top four. Before the 2-2 draw against Watford, the 69-year-old tactician had his eyes set on finishing top four in the Premier League and winning both the FA Cup and the Champions League with Chelsea, but he now seems to have changed his tune.

During the interview, he said:

“It’s difficult. To be finishing fourth you have to win these games and also depend on your opponents. But I want to see the team showing that ambition until it is mathematically impossible.’’

Concerning the match against Watford, he added:

"The way the players reacted to conceding those two goals was excellent. It was unfortunate for Oscar.

"There are things to work on, but we can move forward. I don't know what has happened earlier in the season, but we have to learn from our mistakes."
