After sacking Jose Mourinho earlier today, Chelsea have reportedly selected their interim manager.

According to reports in England, Chelsea have chosen Guus Hiddink as their new interim manager after Mourinho's sacking.

The 69-year-old has managed various international teams such as Australia, Turkey, Russia, Netherlands and South Korea. He took over as interim manager at Chelsea after the sacking of Luiz Felipe Scolari during the 2008-09 Premier League campaign.

In his last game for Chelsea, he won the FA Cup after beating Everton 2-1 at Wembley. Hiddink celebrates winning the FA Cup with Chelsea

Back in 2009, he made history as the highest paid manager in the world by working as Chelsea and Russia head coach at the same time. He also managed Spanish giants Real Madrid in 1998 and then later joined their La Liga counterparts Real Betis two years later.

As Chelsea manager, Hiddink only lost once. This was during their domestic fixture at the White Hart Lane when Luka Modric scored the only goal of the match for Tottenham Hotspur. Despite winning the remaining matches for Chelsea, the Dutch tactician was not hired as Chelsea manager.

In his last Premier League match, Chelsea beat Blackburn Rovers 2-0 but still failed to secure the title. However, the Blues fans chanted his name after the match and urged club owner Roman Abramovich to sign him but the deal did not materialize.

Chelsea are now reportedly interested in offering him a position as an interim manager, with the possibility of elevating him to permanent status at the end of the season.
