No player, male or female, has scored more goals than Abby Wambach with their national teams. She is said to be the greatest of all times among many of her peers and analysts.

There will be 22 players on the field when the United States Women's National Team and China face off at the Mercedes Benz Superdome in New Orleans, Louisianna but one player is set to steal the spotlight. 35-year-old Abby Wambach is ready to quit a magnificent career in this friendly game, which will be her 252nd cap.

Wambach will be remembered by many of her teammates and fans as the "Greatest Of All Time," thanks to her record of 184 goals in 251 games so far, two Olympic gold medals and also her most recent Wordl Cup title this past summer in Canada, after failing to win it against Japan in the past edition.

Alex Morgan wants fans to show Abby some love

She grew up admiring Mia Hamm and today her idol has nothing but nice words about Wambach, who she believes has even stepped over her legacy and taken womens soccer in the United States and around the world. Wambach's impact on the game of soccer will be felt the most when she steps away from the field.

Her idol will be watching her one last time

She was named FIFA's Player of the Year in 2012, but it wasn't until she won the Wordl Cup title three years later that she was fully satisfied. While she considered Hamm a great role model and leader, that what she has been to the younger generation of Alex Morgan and Amy Rodriguez among others.

Wambach had trademark headers with which she scored a handful of her goals. No player, man or woman, has scored more goals with their national team than her. It was with a header that Wambach gave the United States a dramatic ticket to the World Cup semifinal in 2011.

Her head has her own Twitter account (unofficial)

As a young player, Wambach was targeted by the most prestigious college soccer programs in the country. While she could have easily accepted to go with the national champions of North Carolina, she decided to go with the University of Florida and in her first year there, the Gators were crowned National Champions.

Wambach has won it all

For the star striker, the game has already evolved significantly from when she first started playing in the early 90's. She was one of the players that used to stay after practice to fine tune her skills and as a result you have a player that will be dearly missed by the soccer community.

Her teammates will definitely miss her

"It's evolved. It's harder than it ever used to be. The standard is even higher. That's the way it should be. [But] the body just knows when it knows and your mind is at the right speed but your body just isn't doing what it was capable of doing even three years ago," Wambach said in a recent interview

Abby does not want to be remembered

After winning the World Cup for a third time in the history of U.S. Women's socccer, the team has played eight games in what they call a "Victory Tour". So far they have won seven games and drawn one. This Superdome is the final stop of the tour and where Abby Wambach gets off the USWNT train hoping it keeps moving forward.

People across the United States and around the world are saying goodbye to Abby
