Real Madrid is one of the few undefeated teams after five games have been played. Malmo has only won one game and lost the other four.

Real Madrid will host Malmo in their last group stage game of the UEFA Champions League. After each team has played five games, the Spanish giants are already into the next round while the Swedish team will be playing its last 90 minutes of the tournament, having no chance to advance to the Round of 16.

Real Madrid Preview

When Malmo hosted this matchup back in the last day of September, Cristiano Ronaldo's brace gave Madrid a 2-0 win. Those two goals gave Ronaldo the top spot in the goal-scorers list for Real Madrid. That day, he passed Raul González Blanco as the best striker in the history or Madrid.

While he has not scored many goals in La Liga, Ronaldo leads the scoring charts in the UCL. He has seven goals in five games and is two ahead of Robert Lewandowski, who has five along with Luis Suarez and other two players. Madrid has only has one scoreless game and it was against Paris Saint-Germain.

Their offense has been strong throughout this competition, averaging more than two goals per game for a total of 11. At the same time, their defense has been solid, keeping a clean sheet in the first four games and then Shakhtar Donetsk scored three against Madrid in their last game. Los Merengues ended up winning 4-3.

No player in Real Madrid's roster is suspended for this match. Marcelo is still in doubt with a groin injury and Sergio Ramos along with Raphael Varane are out due to injuries. Welshman Gareth Bale will be rested for this game as well as Luca Modric and Keylor Navas.

Malmo FF Preview

On the other side, Malmo FF has only been able to score one goal and they have allowed a total of 13, making them the second worst defense in the whole competition. Despite that, they still have a chance to end in third place of Group A. The team is currently tied with Shakhtar but a combination of results could launch them past the Ukranian side.

Rafa Benitez knows he has no excuse to lose this game. On paper, Real Madrid is highly superior and they can't afford to lose after what happened in the Spanish Cup, where they have already been knocked out due to an illegal formation in their first game. Ever since losing El Clasico, Madrid has won their four following games.

Madrid does not have any players suspended for this game but Malmo does and his name is Resmus Bengtsson, a defender for the Swedish team. Malmo hopes to close their first UCL participation with at least one point. They know Shakhtar is playing PSG,  a team that with a win could demote Real to second place.

Age Hereide will be on the sidelines for Malmo one last time. This is his final game as a manager for a team he got into the Champions League via the qualifying round. With their domestic league having finished in October, the players are rested but probably with a lack of playing rythm. Either way, you can expect them to fight for their coach.
