After a goalless draw in Extremadura, Barca will hope to dismiss their midweek opponents if they want to book a place in the last 16 of the Copa del Rey. Barca boss Luis Enrique has insisted once again that he will field a strong squad to after they were held to a goalless draw by their division two opponents in the first leg of the fixture.
The two sides failed to score against each other in the first leg of the fixture but things could be different this time round when Barca host their visitors at the Camp Nou.
Despite fielding quite a strong side for the first leg of the fixture, the Blaugrana were unable to find the back of the net. This explains why Enrique insists on fielding a stronger side to floor their stubborn second division opponents.
Speaking about the squad, the Spanish tactician told journalists during a news conference:
''Taking the first leg into account, it's a dangerous result because a draw would eliminate us, except a 0-0, so we are approaching the game with the level of seriousness we bring to any tie."
"It is going to be a starting 11 that brings certainty.''
He added:
"To win the Cup you have to get past the last 32 and right now we are tied at 0-0."
The former Spain midfielder did not immediately reveal whether Lionel Messi will feature in the match after returning from a two-month injury. The Catalans are looking to win their 28th Copa del Rey title this season after dismissing Athletic Bilbao in last season’s final, which was their 27th trophy of the tournament.
The away team are in poor form; they have not won any other match after their draw with Barcelona. In five games, they have only managed to score three goals and are currently sitting in the relegation zone in Segunda B.
