Both teams have lost two games out of their last six. New York has not been able to beat Columbus by more than one goal in any of their last two wins.

The New York Red Bulls, the overall leaders of the Major League Soccer after the regular season, host the Columbus Crew which is determined to finish what they started one week ago with a 2-0 win. With the MLS Cup final ticket at the end of the road, no team wants to lose this game or stay out being so close.

Red Bulls Preview

The New York Red Bulls loved playing at home this season with a record of 12-3-2 in the 17 games that have hosted at Red Bull Arena. The team must show what made them the best team in the entire league throughout the regular season, a level of play that was nowhere to be seen last Sunday.

In 12 of their 17 games at home, the Red Bulls have scored two or more goals, which is the same amount they need to knock-out Columbus Crew if the visitors don't score. Not having scored an away goal in the first leg could be costly in case they concede one goal this Sunday.

Bradley Wright-Phillips is definitely a man that can be a leader inside the field and who can make a difference playing at home. The star forward has scored 13 goals at home, tied with Kei Kamara for the most goals scored in home games.

Having a star striker helps, but in this case having a great goalkeeper is just or even more important. Luis Robles was names Allstate Goalkeeper of the year, something he did not seem to be in the first leg. He allowed the first goal of the night within the first ten seconds of the game. During the season, Robles recored seven clen sheets in home games.

Columbus Preview

Kei Kamara is probably the man of the hour in the MLS Playoffs. He is probably the only striker to have continued his good streak from the regular season and transported that mojo into the playoffs. His leadership within the team is innevitable to recognize. Kamara has scored 25 goals so far this season.

Justin Meram made MLS history at MAPFRE Stadium last Sunday, scoring the game-opener nine seconds into the match. Meram's goal was the fastest goal to ever be recorded in MLS Playoffs history. The second goal of the night came in the 85th minute via the one and only Kei Kamara.

Out of the last five games they have played against New York, the team has won three of them, including the previous game in the Conference Final. In all of those wins they have scored at least two goals and they have never left a game against the Red Bulls without scoring a goal.

Intersting Numbers

When playing at home, New York has an average of two goals per game while conceding one. Columbus Crew averages a 1.2 goal average when playing away from MAPFRE Stadium but concedes 1.7 on the road. Both teams have scored 64 goals so far while the Crew has conceded 56 and NYRB only 45.
