After the first two games of the South American qualifiers, Argentina will not have two of their key performers for November's matches. Today, La Albiceleste's Twitter feed confirmed that neither Lionel Messi nor Sergio Aguero will play against Brazil and Colombia next month.
Lionel Messi has missed every single game since September 26th, when he came down with a knee injury during a La Liga match against Las Palmas. "La Pulga" was expected to make a comeback during November's international break, but he will not make it on time to represent his home country.
On the other hand, Sergio Agüero came down with a hamstring injury during the first game of the South American World Cup Qualifiers this month. "El Kun" had been struggling to be fit with his club since the beginning of the season, and once his injury was confirmed, both Manchester City and the National Team agreed that he needed at least four weeks to recover from his injury.
With both strikers out, Gerardo Martino decided to call up Gonzalo Higuaín to replace them. "El Pipa" had been left out of La Albiceleste's recent games, following a disappointing performance during this summer's Copa América.
