Sources indicate the former Arsenal & Man United striker would be willing to leave Fenerbahce in January, months after signing a three-year deal with the Turkish side.

With their transfer ban soon coming to an end, Barcelona's fans are expecting the team to spend big during the upcoming transfer window, and one of their prioritary moves would implicate the signing of a backup striker. Sources revealed that the club has set their sights on 32-year old striker Robin Van Persie, who is currently unhappy with his situation at Fenerbahce, and could be open for negotiations when the transfer window starts.

Van Persie recently joined the Turkish side, but he has voiced his complaints against coach Vitor Pereira, who is using him as a "super sub". Although his role with Barcelona would be the same, the likes of him playing for Los Blaugranas should be tempting enough, given his recent form and his before-spoken desire of playing for the current Champions League holders.

Sources indicate that the team's General Secretary, Robert Fernández, was spotted at Amsterdam Arena, where he had a chance to watch Van Persie perform. The Dutch striker scored a baffling own goal, only to bounce back and score for the Oranje side minutes later.

The former Arsenal and Manchester United player has only played 560 minutes with the Turks in all competitions, scoring four goals and handing out an assist.

Despite having joined Fenerbahce this summer on a three-year deal, the Dutch striker could be making way for his departure, given his low buyouy clause (€13m) compared to that of other top-class forwards.

The only setback for this negotiation would come if coach Luis Enrique chooses to sign Celta's Nolito instead. The playmaker has enjoyed two wonderful seasons with Celta, and his performances on the pitch have fans asking for his return, given that he grew up in La Masía. Whether it is RVP or Nolito who ends up joining Los Blaugranas, the team needs to add some talent up front before time runs out and they end up struggling with injuries, such as the ones that have hit them recently.
