It wasn't easy, but both teams from Manchester managed to win their first three points in the 2015-2016 UEFA Champions League edition.
As if fate had a hand in it, both teams had similar circumstances working for them to win their matches, including a penalty for each of Manchester's teams. With their respective three points, both sides will have to enter a tight race to win a place in the Round of 16, although neither club currently holds a seat in the first two places of their divisions. Here's a closer look at what happened with each team.
Man United 2-1 Wolfsburg
An early goal by Daniel Caligiuri forced the Red Devils to bounce back, and Juan Mata's penalty before the first half ended made it a lot easier for Van Gaal's crew. When things seemed to be quite complicated for the current Premier League leaders, Chris Smalling scored his tenth goal for Manchester United to give Old Trafford's fans their first Champions League victory in over two years.
Both of tonight's heroes for the Red Devils shared their thoughts about the game.

Borussia Moenchengladbach 1-2 Manchester City
Things hadn't started as Manchester City wanted, losing their first game against Juventus on September 15th. Today, the Sky Blues were capable of overcoming Lars Stindl's go ahead goal to win their first three points of the tournament. Martin Demichelis and a late penalty for Sergio "Kun" Agüero shocked the home side, who saw how their one-goal lead was cancelled by Pellegrini's team. Borussia even had the chance to score earlier, but Raffael missed a penalty kick that could've made things more complicated for the Citizens.
Of course, fans praised Sergio Agüero for his late heroics.
