Arsenal has not been defeated by Leicester in their last 17 games. Leicester is currently in fourth while Arsenal is in fifth in the EPL standings.

10 points in six games have Arsenal currently in fifth place of the English Premier League Standings. The squad managed by Arsene Wenger now faces Leicester City, a team that is surprising most fans with 12 points that have them in fourth place.

Leicester, the team that will be hosting Arsenal for this match, is currently undefeated with a 3-3-0 record. Their goal differential is also positive (13-9). These are some numbers that may have been hard to predict when the season started.

With only two players injured but none undergoing suspensions, Leicester has a big chance of adding more points at King Power Stadium against the Gunners. In their last three games, they have had more draws than wins. A 2-1 win against West Ham was their latest result.

Last season, Leicester was fighting to stay in the Premier and so they did. With Nigel Pearson as the manager at that time, the club leaders decided it was time for change. Claudio Ranieri, a former manager for Chelsea, was the one who took Nigel’s place.

At this point, the decision to switch managers has not proven to be costly for Leicester City. They will face a team they consider fast, smart and technical. While there is a long way to go this season, Ranieri is taking it one game at a time.

On the other side, Arsene Wenger’s side knows that a victory would launch them on top of Leicester City in the standings. Doing so seems to be easy on paper. The Gunners have not lost any of their last 17 games against their upcoming rival.

Arsenal is motivated by their win against Tottenham midweek in the Capital One Cup. While they lost their derby against Chelsea, that victory against the Spurs is fresh on the minds of Arsenal’s players.

With Petr Cech as their main goalkeeper, the team has received five goals in six games, while keeping three clean sheets. The last one was against Stoke City on September 12. Olivier Giroud is their leading scorer with two goals.

Francis Coquelin will not play due to an injury. The big news is that we might be seeing Per Mertesacker and Laurent Koscielny playing together again one more time, after a month of being separated.

Most of the hopes of Arsenal to cause damage to Leicester City may come from the feet of Theo Walcott. The quick and versatile striker may be the man that breaks the tough defensive system that Leicester has been bragging about.
