Manuel Pellegrini may still be wondering what went wrong this week, since his team was not able to keep the form they showed during the first month of competition. Today, the Citizens were not able to keep their clean sheet streak againt West Ham, a team that scored two goals in 27 minutes to show the Sky Blues were not unbeatable. Even though Kevin De Bruyne scored before the halftime break, Pellegrini's crew was not able to score once more, finishing the game with a score line most experts didn't predict.
Moses scored his first goal for West Ham against the Citizens, following his loan deal from Chelsea. The Nigerian player struck the ball far away from the Sky Blues' box, putting his right-footed strike past Joe Hart. Later on, City's shaky defense, which did not have Vincent Kompany available, was unable to clear a corner kick inside their box, leaving Diafra Sakho all alone to tap the ball in.
With this result, West Ham are currently second in the EPL, just three points behind their victims today. Curiously enough, the Hammers won three of their four games playing away from their ground, defeating Arsenal, Liverpool and the Citizens in the process. This is the first time West Ham has won against those three teams in a single season.
Fans reacted to their performance with mixed emotions. Here are some of their best comments.
That's why we loaned Moses to West Ham.
