The Dutch attacker, who spent nine years with PSV, admits he won’t hold back if he scores against his former team.

On Tuesday, Manchester United attacker Memphis Depay will step foot at the Philips Stadion when the English Premier League giants lock horn with the Eredivisie champions in Tuesday’s Champions League encounter.

For the 21-year-old Dutchman, the game will prove a special one, as he returns to the team where he spent nine years of his career. Nonetheless, the player admits that he will not hold back with the celebrations if he nets against his former side.

“I have been asked that question a lot but it’s still a game and football is an expression, so I will celebrate if I score,” Depay revealed.

“Obviously I have a lot of respect for PSV but I play for Manchester United now so if I score I will celebrate.”

“Of course it will be special, I played here [almost] 10 years before coming to Manchester United. It will be good to see my old team-mates, it will be interesting,” added the Oranje international.

“When I came on the pitch here for the first time I was very young, so I will think about that when I train on Monday, but on Tuesday it will be a different thing. It will be interesting but I think we’ll do a good job here.”

Despite exciting the fans upon securing his £22.3m Old Trafford arrival, Depay is yet to hit the ground running, with zero goals to his name in the English Premier League. However, the player admits that he has a lot to improve, and insists that he is ready to learn the ropes.

“I learnt so much here, but as the boss says the Premier League is on a different level. I have to learn to improve in the English game. I learnt so much at PSV but it’s different.

“It’s a new experience for me, and I have to improve. I know that.”

“Of course [Anthony Martial and I] are both young so we can help each other and ask each other questions. The same goes for Luke Shaw, he has played in the Premier League a lot more than me so I ask him a lot of questions."
