The American stated it was unconceivable to have a team that only scored one goal in the group stage fighting to be crowned as champions, among other things.

Prior to his team's first knockout stage game against Cuba, United States' captain Michael Bradley shared a few thoughts about the complications it implies for him to play in a tournament that has its share of problems. In fact, Bradley's words reflect that there should be some adjustments made to in order to have a better competition.

"I say this with total endearment, the Gold Cup is ridiculous. Between the travel, the short turnaround between games, the grass being laid over turf, the weather, it’s a huge challenge. But the tournament should be better organized, you can't have a team in the knockout stage that only scored one goal and conceded eight fighting to be crowned as champions,"Bradley stated.

The former Roma midfielder, currently playing in the MLS, referred to his opponents this Saturday, claiming that despite the team's absences after desertion, Cuba will still be a tough side to beat for the Americans, who got to this stage after winning two of their three group stage matches.

"You see that every game is a dogfight. Every game is close and hard. It’s exactly what we expected. Their current moment is fantastic, and they should feel proud about being among CONCACAF's finest. You can ask other teams that were considered contenders and now they are out. We will have to play our best in order to defeat them," the captain added.

Whoever wins this match will be playing the winner of the quarter-final matchup between Haiti and Jamaica.
