The shot-stopper will return to La Casa Blanca after being part of the team's youth categories ten years ago. Details of the contract's length were not disclosed.

After all that's been said about Real Madrid's goalkeeping gig, a familiar face will fight with Keylor Navas for the top job. Former Espanyol shot-stopper Kiko Casilla will join Los Blancos this season, after the team parted ways with Iker Casillas, Kiko, 28, was part of the team's youth categories ten years ago, as he takes on one of the biggest challenges in his career. Real Madrid paid Espanyol six million euros for the player's services.

Casilla's arrival to La Casa Blanca might come as a disappointment for Real Madrid fans, who expected David De Gea to step into the shoes of the historic Iker. Apparently, the deal with the former Periquito might mean Manchester United's shot-stopper will have to live up to his contract until next year, when he becomes a free agent.

These were Casilla's words after the deal was made official.

Fans and experts had mixed reactions to the player's signing. Although some believe Casilla will not have any problem adapting to his new team, the chance to have De Gea working for Los Blancos was something they wanted to see as soon as possible. Have a look at what they had to say following the deal's announcement.
