The Mexican striker is still waiting to know where he will end up playing after a one-year loan with Real Madrid. Italian Serie A club Inter Milan appears to be his destination.

After one of his most complicated seasons as a professional, Manchester United's "Chicharito" Hernández found some reasons to love football while being on loan with Real Madrid. Off the pitch, one of those reasons might be his girlfriend Lucía Villalón, but the inspiration to perform better on the pitch came from one of the world's most respected footballers: Cristiano Ronaldo.

In an interview with Univisión, "Chicharito" shared his thoughts about what proved to be a challenging season, since he did not have too much minutes to show what he could do. The Mexican striker revealed that during those difficult times, he could always ask CR7 for advice, with the Portuguese inspiring him to get better.

"Cristiano is a great player, there are no words to describe him. He is a clear example that hard work pays off. He helped me find myself again as a player," Hernández said.

CR7 thanks Hernández for an assist against Málaga.

Hernández spared no words about his season with Los Blancos, which helped him progress as a striker despite not enjoying as much minutes as he would have wanted.

"I was on the bench a lot, which was frustrating because I was not important. The goal against Atletico was a big relief because it was a difficult year and I had so few opportunities," he added.

"Chicharito's" contract with Real Madrid ends on June 30th, but the club does not seem to be interested in buying him off Manchester United, where he is not wanted by coach Louis Van Gaal. After scoring 9 goals in 33 games with Los Blancos, his future seems to be closer to Serie A football, where clubs such as Inter Milan and Lazio have shown their intention to sign him. Hernández will be playing CONCACAF's Gold Cup with Mexico in July, where he hopes he can sort out his future.
