Tottenham Hotspur resume their English Premier League campaign with a match away to West Bromwich Albion. Fortunately enough for Spurs, Jermain Defoe and Peter Crouch should be made available for the clash along with some more names.

Tottenham Hotspur striker Jermain Defoe stretched off against SwitzerlandWhile on duty with England, Tottenham striker Jermain Defoe suffered a knock. The player had to be carried away on a stretcher during the Three Lions’ 3-1 defeat of Switzerland earlier on Tuesday. However, he has assured fans that his injury is nothing too serious as he prepares to face West Bromwich Albion on Saturday afternoon. Jermaine Defoe told The Sun:

“I jarred my ankle or my knee. But it feels alright. I’ve always said that I’ll do my best to make sure I’m out there.

“I’ve just got to rest it. I’ll just keep icing it, and I’m sure that I’ll be okay.”

Jermain Defoe’s international and club football team mate, Peter Crouch, didn’t take part in England’s Euro 2012 qualifying matches over the last few days. The forward had to pull out from Fabio Capello’s roster subsequent to a back problem which kept him unfit.

But reports now state that Peter Crouch could recover sooner than expected and was even able to feature in a light training session earlier this week. It is also a possibility that ex-Arsenal player William Gallas could experience his Tottenham debut this weekend after successfully participating in a friendly match against QPR on Tuesday. David Bentley also joins Jermain Defoe, William Gallas, and Peter Crouch in the list of Tottenham Hotspur players set to return on the field of play after recovering from injuries.
