The Argentinean legend wants to be named Vice President of footbal's governing body after the scandal that ended up with Sepp Blatter's resignation last week.

Diego Armando Maradona wants to end FIFA's history of corruption, or at least he would be willing to do so. During an interview, the former Napoli player and football legend stated he would join FIFA as Vice President if Prince Ali Bin Al-Hussein was elected as Joseph Blatter's successor. Maradona has supported Prince Ali's campaign from the start, attacking Blatter everytime he had the chance to do so while in campaign.

"I have good chances of becoming FIFA's VP if Prince Ali runs for office. And everyone should tremble, because if I get there, I'm going to clean the house. Lots of FIFA's officers would not be happy if I was given that job," Maradona stated.

Asked about other contenders named by the media to succeed Blatter, Maradona shared his thoughts on Michel Platini and Luis Figo, who don't seem to have much of "El Pelusa's" sympathy.

"Platini came on to me and confessed that he had rigged 167 games, and I used to respect Luis Figo, but after a while, I've noticed that his word doesn't mean anything. I realized he is as loyal as Bernardo, Zorro's friend," the Argentinean added.

While the election date is yet to be determined, no possible candidate has stated their intention to run for FIFA's office.

"Some people are like poets when they're silent"--Luis Figo about Maradona

Following Maradona's words about Luis Figo, the former FIFA Presidential candidate replied Maradona via a Facebook post. Luis Figo was one of the four candidates for the position, but he declined to participate one week before FIFA's Congress was staged in Switzerland. In his reply, written in three different languages, Figo referred to Maradona's skills on the pitch, but he also regretted how he lives his life after hanging his boots.
