The Italian defender stated he will be pleased to play once again against the Uruguayan, who took a bite off his shoulder during last year's World Cup match.

Perhaps one of the most controversial moments in recent football history involves Luis Suarez and Giorgio Chiellini. If you don't remember what happened, the Uruguayan striker took a bite off the Italian defender's shoulder, causing FIFA to ban Suarez from any official match in four months, adding an eight-match ban from any game with his National team. With the UEFA Champions League final just around the corner, these two characters will meet again, and as surprising as it may seem, the Italian defender is looking forward to shake hands with the former Liverpool striker.

Today, Giorgio Chiellini revealed he wants to leave the incident behind, and even admitted he would not have any problem "hugging" Suarez when they meet this Saturday.

"Of course I will shake hands, I’ll hug him happily, too, there’s no problem at all. Those who know me even a bit know that’s how I truly feel. I have no problem with him and I think it’s the same for him. I have to think about him as a player, how he moves, his great skill but nothing more,” Chiellini revealed.

Suarez was heavily trolled after the biting incident, but it seems the Italian defender doesn't care about what happened anymore.

Chiellini admitted La Vecchia Signora will be focused on trying to stop Lionel Messi for as long as possible, but he believes the Argentinian will have to be ready to face some fierce defenders, not like the ones he is used to play against in the Spanish top flight.

“It’s a bit more difficult to score goals like that in Italy because we are a bit different defensively and offensively,” Chiellini said. “In Spain, they play better football but defend worse. But Messi is Messi. He scores when he wants. We have to be good in limiting him as much as possible,” the defender added.
