The game includes 12 national teams that will be participating in the Women's World Cup this summer. The game is expected to be released in mid-September.

For the first time ever, the traditional FIFA video game will include Women's Soccer. EA Sports and FIFA announced that 12 of the world's best women's national teams will be included in the FIFA 16 to be launched by the end of the year. This comes just weeks ahead of the start of the 2015 Women's World Cup in Canada.

The teams included in this game are. Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, England, France, Germany, Italy, Mexico, Spain, Sweden, and the United States of America. The United States is currently ranked number one in the world and is the favorite to win it all this summer in Canadian territory.

EA Canada visited with four top players from United States Women’s Team. Sydney Leroux, Abby Wambach, Alex Morgan, and Megan Rapinoe were used by developers of the game to imitate their gestures plus their runs, sprints and horizontal movements. Soccer Canada also visited EA to provide full-player references captured using 360-degree body scanning. All this was done to ensure the game is as realistic as possible.

“I honestly can’t believe all of the science and technology behind the game itself, let alone getting us into the motion capture suits and eventually into the game,” Abby Wambach, the women with the most goals scored in a national team (U.S.) said.

“Bringing some of the best women’s players and teams in the world to our franchise is a massive event for EA SPORTS, and we are equally excited about bringing millions of fans a new way to play,” said David Rutter, VP and GM, EA SPORTS FIFA in an official statement.
