The Swiss exec, who is contending for a fifth term as football's top officer, said the organisation will cooperate with the authorities in charge of the investigation.

FIFA's Swiss president Joseph Blatter issued a statement regarding the bribery and racketeering case involving some of his top officers. In a document released by FIFA's media area, Blatter revealed he will be cooperating with the Swiss and United States authorities in charge of the investigation, while the organisation will ban all of those charged with corruption allegations.

Blatter, currently contending for his fifth term as FIFA's president, is still the favorite to continue his job as the top officer in football's governing body, in an election that has been widely criticized for allegedly being rigged to benefit him.

Those officers banned from any football-related activity are: Jeffrey Webb (FIFA's Vice President), Eduardo Li , Julio Rocha, Costas Takkas, Jack Warner, Eugenio Figueredo, Rafael Esquivel, José Maria Marin, Nicolás Leoz, Chuck Blazer and Daryll Warner.

UEFA could boycott Friday's election

After all of today's revelations, some of the football's top organisms had their say about what's going on in Zurich. UEFA's Secretary General Gianni Infantino has requested the election for FIFA's president to be postponed, while asking those federations linked to them to boycott the Congress if FIFA decides to carry on with it.

"We strongly believe the Fifa Congress should be postponed with new Fifa presidential elections to be organised within the next six months," Infantino told the press.
