Louis Van Gaal wanted the German center back to join the Red Devils next season, but Hummels decided to stay a bit longer with the yellow and black side.

German defender Mats Hummels is going nowhere. According to Borussia Dortmund's  sporting director Michael Zorc, the player will live up to his contract with the team, snubbing a 37 million pound offer to sign for Manchester United.

Zorc revealed the team knew that Hummels was thinking about leaving the club, but in the end, both parties agreed that the best thing they could do was continue with their relationship.

"It made sense that Mats was thinking about his future, but I always pointed out that we plan for the future with him," Zorc revealed in an interview.

Hummels' future with the club was doubtful ever since coach Jurgen Klopp revealed he would be ending his relationship with them by the end of the season. Following the announcement, players like Marco Reus, Ilkay Gundogan and Hummels were tempted to join most of Europe's top teams, but it seems that the only one leaving the yellow-and-black side will be Gundogan.

Earlier this month, Zorc was confident about Hummels' presence with the team for the next two seasons, with no offer for the player's services back then.

"As far as I know, Hummels's contract still runs until 2017. We did not receive any offer that we should think about," the exec ellaborated.
