Orlando & NYCFC continue to fall in MLS standings

MLS Roundup: NYCFC is without Villa and Kaka's team suffers painful loss

April 7, 2015 By Oscar Casanova Perches
Both NYCFC and Orlando SC have only won one game this season. Villa is out with a muscular problem.

Orlando City SC and New York City FC are not able to live up to the hype they created at the beginning of the season. Both teams have only won one game since the season started and are tied with five points in the Eastern Conference standings.

The central-Florida team, which is lead by Brazilian star Kaka, suffered a last-minute loss against D.C. United at home by 1-0. Despite creating more chances than their opponent, they could not finish any of them and paid the price.

Kaka created many chances for his team, finding the few open spaces in United’s defense. His teammates were unable to finish his plays plenty of times. Then, Luis Silva made them regret those lost opportunities by scoring the game-winning goal on aggregate time.

The Spaniard did not play due to a strained groin problem. The team from the big apple expects to have him back in action by this weekend.

Kansas City took great advantage of his absence and racked up its first win of the season. 12 minutes was all it took for Kansas to take the lead thanks to a goal from Ike Opara. NYCFC was unable to react in the following 78 minutes.
