After a rather disappointing defeat to Bayern, Dortmund will now turn their attention to the DFB Pokal. Hoffenheim, who they beat by a solitary Ilkay Gündogan strike in December, will be their opponent. Dortmund pushed Bayern back and had strong spells throughout the match against Bayern. However, their shortcoming was once again the lack of a Plan B. Bayern happily absorbed the pressure and attacked Dortmund using quick counterattacks. Perhaps what was most suprising was that Marco Reus missed Dortmund's best chance of the game. The fact that Robert Lewandowski scored the winner for Dortmund surely left a sour taste in the mouths of the BVB faithful.
BVB boss Jürgen Klopp is not going to take Hoffenheim lightly. He also wants to win the Cup though. This is what he had to say according to goal.com:
"Hoffenheim is far from being our dream draw. Hoffenheim are a highly talented team with outstanding players."
"Their defeat to [Borussia Monchen] Gladbach on Saturday helps us in terms of confidence, of course, but that's similar to us.
"I hope that the cup is not our last chance to make something positive out of this season. Our situation in the league is not comfortable enough to just let the season come to an end."
"But the cup is incredibly important, I would like to see the team win on Tuesday as well."
Dortmund however is fully prepared for tomorrow as their twitter page reveals:
