The results over the weekend have resulted in Man City dropping to fourth place in the league table but the Citizens will leapfrog both Man United and Arsenal should they record all three points on Monday. Man City were expected to give Chelsea a run for their money in the race for the title, but with the two teams having played the same number of games, the Blues enjoy a comfortable nine point lead.
Man City number one Joe Hart has accepted that City have not been at their supreme best this season but has insisted that the team will continue fighting for the title.

"We will never give up. It's kind of how we do it. We like to do it a different way," Hart said.

"We've not necessarily reached the standard week in, week out that we wanted to, but the beauty of football is that you get another chance – and that starts on Monday.

"We've proved it and the fans have proved it. That is one thing that is part of Manchester City, which we've taken with us from the olden days. We'll never give up while anything is possible.

"We have definitely moved on as a team since we won the league for the first time. That was a massive achievement, but now we expect it of ourselves.

"We have been disappointed at certain times this season, but there are eight games to go and we'll give it all we've got."

Pellegrini's men have been on a disappointing run as of late having lost thrice in their last five matches in all competitions including successive 1-0 defeats at the hands of Barcelona and Burnley. However they were impressive last time out when they scored a 3-0 win over West Brom.

Wilfried Bony opened his account for the club as he fired home a shot from ten yards. This was followed by goals from Fernando and David Silva as Man City sealed a comfortable win.

Palace on the other hand have looked good under Alan Pardew and have been on a good run lately having won thrice in their last five matches. Another win on Monday could inevitably bring an end to Man City's title hopes and Crystal Palace will be looking to do exactly that. However the Eagles have fared poorly against the defending champions having lost their last seven matches against them and have failed to score in their last four meetings with the Citizens.

Pellegrini will have a fully fit squad to his expense with Yaya Toure (Achilles) and Aleksandar Kolarov (muscle problem) expected to return to the side. Padrew on the other hand will be without a number of players with Marouane Chamakh, Fraizer Campbell and Jordon Mutch  ruled out with injuries. Whereas Mile Jedinak will serve suspension.
