With Danilo transferring from FC Porto to Real Madrid, it's not only Los Merengues who win in this deal, the Portuguese side also has bragging rights. After the €31.5 million contract was signed for the Brazilian right-back, Porto surpassed the €600 million mark in player sales since 2004.

A grand total of €601 million have come
James (left) and Falcao (center) are the two players with the highest price tag in Porto's historyWhen Deco left Porto to play for Barcelona, he was worth €21 million and reached his peak at €25.3 million in 2007. That same year, Pepe went from Porto to Real Madrid. The Spanish side paid €30 million for the Portuguese defender and that has been his highest market value.
Porto has sold a total of 28 players since 2004, with 2005 and 2014 as their busiest ones with four sales each of those years. Players like Ricardo Quaresma, Bruno Alves, Anderson and Hulk are part of this list. The negotiations range from 12 million to 45 million.
This makes Porto a good option for other clubs to go and search for players. The Portuguese team produces top quality footballers that sooner or later will shine at their clubs and their national teams. Danilo has the potential to follow that path.
