Xavi Hernandez is taking advantage of the break offered by the break La Liga to travel and negotiate his contract with his next team in Qatar. Spanis newspaper AS claims that Xavi has already indeed signed with Al Sadd SC on a three-year deal.

This comes as a surprise to many who thought the Spanish-international would be headed to the MLS by the time summer comes around. New York City FC was making a strong push for it to happen. David Villa also plays for that team.
Xavi is set to take the place that Raul Gonzalez Blanco left open when he left for New York. Each year that Xavi plays for the club, he will be earning 10 million euros. There is an option in his contract to extend it one more year.
As part of the deal of establishing in Qatar, he will get the chance to work on his coaching license. He will do so at the Aspire Academy with a group that is managed by Iván Bravo.

When he leaves Barcelona, it is meant to be an emotional moment. Xavi has played with the team ever since 1995. He has played 750 games with the club and 130 with his national team from which he retired in August.
The 35-year-old midfielder is most likely going to end his career in the host nation of the 2022 World Cup. After seven La Liga and three Champions League titles with Los Cules, it seems to be the time for Xavi to say goodbye to Barcelona.
