The 2014 Puskas Award runner-up scored another breathtaking volley on Wednesday in a 2-1 win over Costa Rica. Watch!

Republic of Ireland striker Stephanie Roche, the runner-up to the 2014 Puskas Award, pulled of another spectacular goal on Wednesday in a 2-1 win over Costa Rica.

Brushing aside the World Cup winners in the Istria Cup, the wonder strike from the Houstan Dash ace is her first goal in 2015, and seventh for her national side so far.

This goal, however, was not as eye-catching as the one nominated for the Puskas, which came second to James Rodriguez's World Cup strike, but expect her name to be thrown into the toss for next year's prize.

Watch the goal in the video below.

After the game, the 25-year-old admitted she felt she had it in her to execute the sublime volley, saying:

“Yes, well I gave Denise [O’Sullivan] a shout because I knew it was on my better foot and luckily enough she left it for me and I was able to get it on my foot and get off a shot.”

“We wanted to try and win this game. I suppose we’ve been unlucky and we haven’t finished our chances this week, so I was glad I got the opportunity to get the shot off.”

Hats off to Stephanie!
