Former Manchester City player Stephen Ireland told ex-Aston Villa ace James Milner that ‘he is going to get a shock soon’ at the City of Manchester Stadium. Actually, the English midfielder has come out to express different opinions concerning life as a Sky Blue.

The midfielder eventually hit back at Stephen Ireland’s criticism against Manchester City. Milner declared:

“I haven’t seen the story, but heard it second, and third hand. The set up is very good at City. The professionalism and attention to detail, down to the recovery and preparation for games, is right up there.

“So, we’re geared up to doing very well. It’s down to us to go out on the pitch and see how far we can go. We will take it one game at a time.”

 

Stephen Ireland, who revealed how he had to cope with annoyance during his last 18 months at the City of Manchester Stadium, branded the billionaire club as arrogant and criticized the poor relationship he had with Coach Roberto Mancini. Expressing how relieved he was to have joined modest Aston Villa, the Irish player stated:

“It was obvious straightaway that Villa owner Randy Lerner is a gentleman.

"He is someoneThen-Manchester City player Stephen Ireland so happy to leave the club's training ground. who knows how to run a football club properly. Some people have used the phrase that ‘I’ve been forced out’. But I couldn’t be more happy to be forced to come to a club like Aston Villa.”

Likewise, James Milner praised his former English Premier League club but also kept positive comments for his new team, Manchester City as he affirmed:

“I knew it would be a good opportunity [to play for Manchester City]. Aston Villa are a very good club and we came close to winning something last year.

“Manchester City are also a very good club and moving in the right direction. They have a lot of fantastic players.”

According to Stephen Ireland, however, it will take the public one month to witness City’s real power. In the meantime, the Sky Blues continue their English Premier League campaign with a match away to Sunderland this weekend.
