Sunday will see plenty of action grace our screens from the 2015 AFCON front as two pairs of teams go mano a mano. Who among the hosts, Gabon, Burkina Faso and Congo will shine?

Equatorial Guinea vs Gabon

2015 Africa Cup of Nations hosts Equatorial Guinea are steadily developing a penchant for draws at the tournament, having already shared a point with their first two opponents, Congo and Burkina Faso respectively. Having made it to the tournament purely on the basis of being its hosts, two points from two games is not the worst progress for the Central African nation.

That being said, no National Thunder fan will consider the full three points against Gabon to be an impossibility. The host country will be particularly psyched by Gabon’s and Aubameyang’s below-par performance in their 1-0 loss to Congo in their last match. Gabon, on the other hand, will look to rediscover the magic that helped them record a sensational opening match victory against Burkina Faso, one of the other teams taking to the pitch on Sunday.

Burkina Faso vs Congo

Coming off the back of a 2-0 loss to Gabon and a dour goalless draw against CAN 2015 hosts Equatorial Guinea, the general mood in the Burkina Faso camp is not the most jubilant. If, however, coach Paul Put can get his tactics right, The Stallions may be able to turn up their game against Congo and quickly salvage their faltering AFCON 2015 campaign.

The mood in the opposite camp is a considerably and understandably happier one. After Gabon got off to a flying start on the opening day of CAN 2015 with a commanding 2-0 victory against Burkina Faso, the Congolese are the team that were able to halt the Gabonese juggernaut, recording a 1-0 against them on Wednesday the 21st. A similar performance on Sunday should surely be enough for them to overcome ailing Burkina Faso.
