Among those implicated in this case are Atletico Madrid's captain Gabi, Manchester United's midfielder Ander Herrera and Mexican coach Javier Aguirre

The investigation regarding a possible fixed match between Spanish clubs Levante and Real Zaragoza is reaching its final stages. Sources indicate the prosecution has found enough evidence to implicate up to 32 people, including players, coaches and team executives.

Zaragoza needed to win their match against Levante in 2011, and Los Maños ended up bagging three points with two goals by Gabi, now playing for Atletico Madrid. Earlier this year, the Anti Corruption wing of the Spanish government revealed some Zaragoza players and then coach Javier Aguirre had their bank accounts investigated, since they received a paycheck days before the game was played. After the game was played, those who received money in their bank accounts withdrew the same amount but never got any prize regarding that game, which sparked controversy and led to this investigation to develop.

The players that had money transferred to their bank accounts were Paraguayan Paulo Da Silva, goalkeeper Toni Doblas (who did not take part of the match), coach Javier Aguirre, Manchester United's Ander Herrera, Leo Ponzio and then-captain Gabi, who could face a complicated situation because as the team's spokesman should have been made aware of any prizes given to the squad.

If the players or their coach were found guilty of any wrong doing, then they could face a possible ban from one to six years, regardless of where they are currently performing their activities.
