Angel Reyna was one of Guadalajara's top transfers this summer, but he has failed to produce for a team trying to avoid relegation.

Guadalajara's owner Jorge Vergara loves controversy. Even with his team fighting to remain in Mexico's top-flight division, the flamboyant owner had time to blast one of his summer signings: no other than Angel Reyna.

During an interview, the boss voiced his disappointment with the player, since his performance during this tournament has been below average. Vergara believes the player hasn't been fully committed with what he promised when they were negotiating his contract.

"It's been quite frustrating, Reyna hasn't fulfilled any of his promises, and his numbers are totally disappointing. He is one of the reasons the team has been so out of shape," Vergara stated.

Guadalajara is trying to avoid relegation for the first time in 71 years of professional football in Mexico, and with that in mind, Vergara has thought about adding some "new blood" to keep their place in Mexico's top flight division.

"We will negotiate some players that did not match our expectations. We will try to make the best of our situation, if we did not make the playoffs, we will work really hard to get Chivas to the place we deserve," the owner added.

Chivas will end their season tomorrow against Morelia, trying not to finish last in the Apertura 2014 tournament.
